The small things that matter

Hemoglobin is the pigment in blood that makes it red. It is the structure that carries oxygen in red blood cells to the rest of your body.

Chlorophyll is the green pigment in plants that allows photosynthesis to occur. 

Both of these structures are vital for animals (hemoglobin) and plants (chlorophyll) to survive. Take a moment to think about the similarities and differences of these and how in such a diverse world, chemically everything is so very similar.
